Statement of Purpose:
We are a church reaching out to seek and save those who are lost. We are striving to learn, and to live Godly lives, putting the Word In Action in our lives, so that others might be changed. WE LOVE GOD, HATE SIN, AND LOVE TO GIVE.
In the early 1980's Sis. Maxwell The founder of True Vine Prayer Band became ill after many years of dedicated ministry. The Lord placed his calling on Pastor Burney life to Minister of the Gospel and to teach the body of Christ. Rev. Burney, following the leading of the Lord, and was received as Pastor of the True Vine Prayer Band. In 1982 Pastor Burney was ordained and license as a Minister and later that same year incorporated the Prayer Band into a Church, True vine Outreach Ministry. Shortly after this, the church moved its first official Sunday Morning Worship Services at the Watkins Christian Academy building on East High St., Youngstown, Ohio. In 1985 the Church moved to their present location at 150 Ninth St., Campbell, Ohio. Over the course of his ministry, Pastor Burney held ministerial affiliations with the Open Bible Standard Churches, the Assemblies of God. In 1992 the Lord directed Pastor to submit under the Episcopal oversight of Pastor of the Rev. John A. Cherry of the From the Heart Church Ministry of Temple Hills, Maryland,
On September 27, 2008, A Changing of the Mantle of Ministry, “The Word In Action Ministry”
Now, yet another task has been set before us; becoming a ministry of "Action". Again following after the leading of Lord under the leadership of Pastor Burney, the True Vine Outreach Ministry officially adopted it new name and direction on September 27, 2008 and is now doing ministry under it’s new mantle the “Word In Action Ministry”; reflecting yet another step of faith, God wants us, as His body of believers to undertake. We truly thank and praise God for all He has done, all He is doing and all He will do through this new direction of Ministry.
